Starting from one of the finest wine estates in Piacenza and delight Yourself with a tasting of the best local wines. You will next head south to the gourmet paradise of Parma, which is one of Italy’s most beautiful cities with a real bohemian atmosphere. Worth visiting the road of Culatello, which crosses the vast plain along the river Po and has its epicenter of production in the city of Zibello. Stroll through the small town of Colorno, which is home to this true delicacy. See how Italy’s exquisite Culatello Ham and other prosciuttos are produced. Next stop at Felino Salami Museum, where You will discover the “art of food making”. You will also attend a cooking class with the chefs of the Academia Barilla, the first international center dedicated to the diffusion of Italian gastronomic culture in the world. Sure it’s nice to enjoy the end result!
The route leads towards the country where Parmigiano Reggiano (Parmesan cheese) is produced by cheesemaking time. You will first visit one of the most prominent producers of Parmigiano Reggiano close to Modena and You will see all elements of its production from the processing of milk in the vats. Following this fascinating visit, head into the wealthy little town of Modena for a visit to the 11th century Unesco heritage preserved Duomo, and a balsamic vinegartasting.
Enjoy a relaxing drive to Florence, where You will have free time to experience the creative heart of the Renaissance city with its main attractions, but also its most prestigious boutiques, including an organized shopping trip to the famous fashion outlet The Mall. Reach the beautiful hills of Fiesole and have dinner in one of the most panoramic terraces with superb views over Florence.
Travel through the fairytale wine roads of Chianti, quintessential Tuscany, You will visit the historical Brolio Castlegardens and tasting the Chianti Classico wine in a private room.
The tour also features a stop to San Gimignano to visit its historical center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, then head north to Milan to admire its most beautiful sights. You will experience the innovative Mediterranean cuisine of the famous Chef Cannavacciuolo while You will directly involved in a cooking class inside the eclectic moorish Villa Crespi, just a few steps from Lake Orta.
An excursion by boat will give You the opportunity to discover the beauty of Maggiore Lake, and to visit the three Borromean Islands, lying in a wide gulf surrounded by mountains on the western side of Lake Maggiore.
